John O'Groats to lands end journey

 
 
Lands End
 
2nd April-Arrived at John O'Groats at 3.30pm and after having a look around (which didnt take long) I started cycling 3.50pm.I cycled 32 miles along the North coast to place called Raey.
 
3rd April-Cycled 75 miles from Raey to Bonar Bridge, and was a hot day with a slight wind against me.Cycled on A836 as far as just past Bettyhill,then picked up A871 then back on the A836 at Altnaharra.Then carried on until reached Lairg, then carried on further to Bonar Bridge.Cycling along loch Navel had good scenery.
 
4th April-Cycled only 50 miles from Bonar Bridge to Drumnadrochit.It was raining all day and wind against  me and going through mountains.Had to cycle along the A9 for a while which is the busiest road in North Scotland.Drumnadrochit is next to loch ness!!
 
5th April-Cycled a good 64 miles into the prevailing winds from Drumnadrochit to North Ballachulish.Cycled through Fort Augustus and along the caledonian canal and then Got to Fort William and thought that was the end of the day but then had sudden burst of energy and done another 15 miles!!Cycled along Loch ness but no sign of the monster.
 
 
6th April-Cycled 68 miles fron North Ballachulish to Ardrishaig.In the morning i had the wind behind me and cycled 31 miles by 12.30 reaching Oban, then in the afternoon cycled another difficult 37 miles into the rain and wind.
 
7th April-Cycled 47 miles from Ardrishaig to Troon.was strong wind against me and rained all day.Cycled to Claonaig then gettin ferry to isle of Arran, then cycled the length of Arran to place called Brodick then got another ferry to Ardrossan.When off the ferry cycled down through Irvine and finished up in Troon.
 
8th April-Left Troon at 8.50 and headed for Monkton then onto Mossblown.Had strong crosswinds but managed to reach Dumfries at 6.55. Cycled 73 miles!
 
9th April-Cycled 45 miles from dumfries over the border to Penrith. On the way i cycled through Annan, Gretna where we stopped for a while to have a look, then over the border to Carlisle then down to Penrith.
 
10th April-Cycled 68 miles from Penrith to Slaidburn in Lancashire where we met David Lloyd and stayed in same pub as him!!
 
11th April-Cycled 72 miles from Slaidburn to Holmes Chapel going through Bury,Clitheroe and Manchester on the way.
 
12th April-Cycled 74 miles from Holmes Chapel to Ludlow passing through Crewe and Shrewesbury.was good weather!
 
13th April-Cycled 61 miles from Ludlow to Chepstow in South Wales passing through Leominster and Hereford.
 
14th April-Cycled 65 miles from Chepstow to Bridgewater going over the bridge into Bristol then through Cheddar and Wedmore and finnally reaching Bridgewater in Somerset.
 
15th April-Cycled 68 miles from Bridgewater leaving at 8.50 to Highampton in Devon.Left Bridgewater and headed for Bampton and then steep hills out of Bampton on the B3227.when arrived at Highampton I was only 95 miles from Lands End!
 
16th April-Cycled 54 miles from Highampton to Trebudannon near St Columb Major in Cornwall.
 
17th April-Trebudannon to Lands end :) It was 48 miles to finish and was a nice last day as I had the wind behind me.Cycled to Penzance and picked up the A30 which goes right down to Lands End.Arrived at Lands End at 2.55 pm. Champagne celebrations!!!
