Stanton Harcourt Cricket Club  previously named Sutton cricket club and is believed to existed since the 1840's. In 1971 the club was moved to Stanton Harcourt so changed name under orders from Lord Harcourt so we can use his field located on the edge of the village on the Standlake road. We have played on the present site since the early 1970's, playing friendly fixtures on Sunday afternoons. We joined the league in 1997 and currently play in Division 3 and 7 of the Oxfordshire Cricket Association. We now play league cricket on Saturdays, a handful of friendlies on Sundays and along with that a few cup games. After a few difficult seasons where we struggled financially and with the lack of new players we were on the brink of folding. However we now feel we have turned a corner on the playing front and are now looking to the future with an influx of talented youngsters who with the experience of the older players form a well balanced squad.
